In our old house, it bummed me out that I never really got around to nesting. Not the way you see on pinterest, where a baby or kids bedroom looked like a magazine ad. So after moving, I finally decided I’d give Clementine a room that matched her personality.
In some ways, I’m glad I didn’t pick a theme before getting to know her. Just shy of 2 years old, I now I know her favorite colors, and that she’s adventurous and independent. And that she LOVES being outside. So when we were preparing to move, I decided to do something with her new bedroom walls. It’s still a work in progress, but let’s just call this Part 1 in my little gal’s bedroom makeover!
To start, we painted the upper part of her walls a pale yellow for the sky. Then, I started mixing blue paints to get different shades for the mountain scene. Instead of taping off the outline of the mountains, I just used tape to mark the height for each peak and freehanded the rest! You don’t need to be an artist to do this!
Now I just need to paint some trees… 🙂 To be continued.
